According to Marcus Garvey "A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots", we were so thankful that we have undergone this course because we have learned how important culture is to every person. It makes us who we are, tells us where we came from.We have learned that without culture we are nothing.Preservation of our culture does not required us to disrespect other culture.Culture makes us unique it gives us our identity.

Learning Society and Culture with Family Planning was indeed worth the summer class. Specifically, society entering the 6 society before our time was breathtaking. Witnessing the evolution before the present makes me think how it is difficult to live during their time.

Chasing for your viand, waiting for the crops to grow would be a little bit tough unlike of today you go to the market and have your stomach full is quite easy of course you need money. Also during each period different disputes rises and of course diverse possible way out is needed. And this is what make me convinced that people before are really well-found of survival. And the society of the present I strongly believe is more furnished with challenges for survival those we the present generation must be ready.

Society and Culture with Family Planning – when we first heard of the subject, we were kind of shocked thinking “why should we include family planning in this subject matter?” and “is it appropriate to have family planning discussed with students?

That was our first impressions about the subject, but it is not what we thought it was. Family planning was included in this subject because it always goes with culture. As time goes by, people’s way of living changes as well as the concept of marriage and family.

As of today, we can say it is appropriate for college students to be aware and get involved in the societal changes. Teenagers should be knowledgeable of the population, economy and other aspects that significantly affect the most important agent of socialization which is the family.
However, teachers need to keep in mind that family planning is different from sex education. There’s a misconception about the two, which needs to be clarified.
Standing and not moving at all for 5 minutes in the hallway of CHMSC-Talisay campus was fun, but also it was a bit embarrassing. People looking at you with their raised eyebrows and distorted faces and murmuring things like, “May ano?” and “Na-ano ni sila man?” was kind of weird on our part.

We felt weird, well, because we are not used by it. We are not used of people looking at us like we are some aliens from another world with strange horns sticking out in our head or the color of our skin were green. But because of this activity, we have felt what deviant people felt when people look at them or talk about them. It is actually not nice to be seen by the people as weird at all. It makes you feel embarrassed and small.

And lastly, for us, we are now aware about the feelings of deviant people. We are now much sensitive for them. Maybe someday, deviant people will be accepted in the society.
STATUS

Rich people in upper class don’t worry at all
They can provide anything and shop at the mall
They can protect their baby when they fall
They will surely give anything to their baby even they are still small.

Middle class can also give and provide
They have enough money to buy when their babies cry
They are called good parents for providing the needs of their children
But not too much like the rich for their children.

However, the low income class is so different
They don’t have car and they can only afford a house for rent
They can only have what their money can buy

Surely, their babies will just be hungry and cry.

GABRIELA is a leftist Filipino organization that advocates for women's issues.
It is a nationwide network of grassroots organizations, institutions, and programs that address issues such as human rights, poverty, globalization, militarism, violence, rape culture, health, sex trafficking, censorship and other issues affecting women. Its name is an acronym of General Assembly Binding Women for Reforms, Integrity, Equality, Leadership, and Action. There are regional chapters in Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Mindanao; sub-regional chapters in Negros, Panay and Samar, and provincial chapters in Bicol and Cebu.

According to Weber’s View the charismatic leader attracts followers because they identify with his divine mission believing that its realization translate into their own well-being. Thus, the personal’s magnetism and the world view serve as the recruiting force that pulls people into the charismatic community which they establish an emotional and communalistic form existence. In relation to that GABRIELA was founded in April 1984 after 10,000 women marched in Manila, defying a Marcos decree against demonstrations. The NGO was named in honor of Gabriela Silang, who led a revolt against Spain in the second half of the eighteenth century. Gabriela Silang who is considering the founder of the movement was able to entice these thousands of women to join in the movement.  According to Weber’s View this would best explain that women found a movement in which they can freely express, direct and fit themselves to address their dilemma’s and concerns.

According to Collective Behavior View defined as collectively acting with some continuity to promote or resist a change in the society or group of which it is a part. In accordance to GABRIELA it is formed in order for the voice, opinion, ideas, and common good for women to be pursued. And a building cannot stand with just a foundation and so this movement is the solution for their cries to be heard. Indeed GARIELA is Women Empowerment!

According to Mass Society View is defined as a phenomena which occur when previously unorganized individuals hand together to change some part of their social milieu. Mass Society definitions are not vastly different from those of Collective Behavior. Women who have different status in life whether you’re rich, poor, black and tangerine can join in this movement. A group who shared the same concern in common may not individually lift each other but rest assured they can take a step of change as a group.
